Policy statement
TDT Communications is committed to providing work environments and systems that protect the health and safety of workers, contractors, clients, visitors and the public, while preventing unnecessary harm to the environment.
Leadership and accountability
Directors and supervisors will provide visible leadership, suitable resources and clear responsibilities for health, safety and environmental performance.
Risk-based planning
- identify hazards and environmental aspects before work begins;
- assess risk and establish effective controls;
- review site, access, weather, traffic, underground services and operational interfaces;
- confirm emergency, communication and escalation arrangements; and
- revise controls when conditions or scope change.
Competent and consulted people
Work will be assigned to people with suitable qualifications, competency, information, equipment and supervision. Workers and contractors will be consulted on matters that affect their health and safety.
Environmental care
We will seek to minimise disturbance, manage waste, prevent pollution, protect vegetation, waterways, cultural heritage and existing assets, and reinstate work areas appropriately.
Reporting and learning
Hazards, near misses, incidents, injuries, damage and environmental events must be reported promptly. Events will be investigated in proportion to their actual and potential consequence, with corrective actions tracked to completion.
Compliance and continual improvement
We will comply with applicable legal, client and project requirements, review performance, learn from field experience and improve our systems and controls.
